The FAQ You Requested...
How much web hosting space do I need for my website?
This question is very similar to "How long is a piece of string?", because it depends what you intend to do with your site. For example, if your site is only intended as an information site or as a "brochure style" advertisement for your business or products, the chances are that 100 Mb will be sufficient, given that this is adequate space for up to 1600 standard pages at the maximum recommended size. So for most business purposes(including many eCommerce enabled Sites), 100 Mb should be sufficient at least to start with.
On the other hand, if you intend having a large online ecommmerce site with a shopping catalogue of 5000 -10,000 products or more which will be supplemented with images and graphics of your products, you may need anything up to 1000 Mb. The Shopping Cart program used can also have a dramatic effect on the space required. Some Shopping Carts require permanent individual "static" pages for every single product which uses up a lot of web space, whilst others create dynamic pages on demand from an online database, which effectively means that there is only one blank product page, like a template, and the product details are simply retrieved from the database when a particular product is requested by the user. This latter type of dynamic shopping cart uses considerably less web space, and normally enables the trader to add, delete, change and update the products and prices at any time from an online administration centre.
WebLink4u can provide web hosting space ranging from 100Mb to 1000Mb, and recommend that most businesses opt for the minimum 100Mb when first starting.
